Michael Leviton is a ukulele player that makes lovely music. That’s really the only way to describe his music, as lovely. The songs are simple and sweet. Imagine being at the beach during the summer as a little kid, and you go to your favorite ice cream store. Leviton would be playing in the background. But there is always a catch. The lyrics are depressing as hell, most tackling subjects like love and relationships. It’s not necessarily told in an ironic Magnetic Fields way, but a more direct, straight to the point message with loads of hooks and smart metaphors. Just really great music here.
P.S. Does anyone know what Leviton is up to? He hasn’t really done anything new since 2007.
Please make sure you check out the wonderful work Michael did for The Bigtop soundtrack, which is streamable here!
