Modest Mouse-The Moon and Antarctica [Bonus Tracks Edition]

This is not just a sit down and listen while doing something else album. It’s an experience. It leaves a feeling of loneliness, darkness, and chilliness. The maturity of each song is insane. One track fluidly flows into another. And the variety is undeniably worthy of a download alone. From ambient to what sounds like an orchestra but played with guitars to use of the good ole’ banjo. Not to mention the anger and angst this album produces. Lead singer Isaac Brock was doing hard drugs and being generally pissed off at everything. This is just a quality album, despite every track being so able to go into the next one, the songs alone are perfect. I can honestly say I love every song on this album in their own way. This is what music should be. What an exciting start to the ‘000s, kind of disappointing to see what we’ve turned to now.
